The Romanian Maritime Training Centre – CERONAV announces the signing of the financing contract and the start of implementation of the project „Platforma informatică de gestionare a serviciilor de pregătire și perfecționare a personalului navigant (e-CERONAV)”, hereinafter referred to as e-CERONAV.
Financed through the Smart Growth, Digitalisation and Financial Instruments Programme (PoCIDIF), the project represents CERONAV's first initiative funded through an operational programme, marking a significant milestone for the institution. It optimises its activities, modernises the registration and payment systems, and increases administrative transparency and efficiency.
"The implementation of this project brings us closer to our strategic goal of institutional modernisation. e-CERONAV is not only about new technology but also about a change in how we interact with our beneficiaries. It is a necessary step towards a more efficient, more transparent and more user-friendly system," stated Dan Pisică, General Manager of CERONAV.
The development of the IT platform will transform CERONAV's operations, delivering benefits such as reduced processing times, optimised workflows, increased transparency and accessibility of public services, and enhanced cybersecurity and data protection.
The expected results of the project include reduced processing times for course enrolment, easier and more transparent interaction with CERONAV service beneficiaries, and improved access for citizens to information and educational services in digital format.
The total value of the project amounts to RON 17,643,769.43, of which the non-refundable contribution from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is RON 12,596,912.77, CERONAV's own contribution is RON 836,523.82, and the remaining RON 4,210,332.84 represents the contribution from the national budget.
CERONAV is a public institution of national interest with a 50-year history in the field of professional training for maritime transport personnel, providing training to thousands of trainees from Romania and abroad through a wide range of courses, state-of-the-art simulators and specialised teaching staff.
