CERONAV – a new vision for offshore, maritime and river navigation training

Under the leadership of newly appointed General Manager Dan Pisică, the Romanian Maritime Training Centre – CERONAV has made remarkable progress. The implementation of modern management and marketing strategies has led to notable results in terms of training quality and the development of educational infrastructure.

Among the latest achievements, we mention the significant increase in the number of offshore courses, as a result of quality services under OPITO and GWO standards, but also of a dynamic marketing policy oriented towards market needs. CERONAV has thus managed to attract more trainees and consolidated its position as a leader in the training of offshore, maritime and river personnel.

The official reception of the new building dedicated to both the training and accommodation of trainees will take place on the 20th of July 2025. CERONAV is thus expanding its capacity to deliver integrated services while also streamlining the training process. The building includes a new training pool, making CERONAV the only training centre in Europe equipped with two dedicated training pools.

The expanded campus now supports concurrent courses across OPITO, GWO, and STCW standards, using advanced teaching methodologies and technologies aligned with global industry expectations.

At the same time, there has been an increase in additional revenues, which was made possible by attracting new strategic partners in the offshore segment. TRANSOCEAN is the most important company, leading the offshore drilling industry, with the most innovative and sophisticated technology. The successful collaboration between CERONAV and TRANSOCEAN within the Neptun Deep project, marks an important step for offshore drilling in the Black Sea, combining cutting-edge technological expertise with excellent training. CERONAV ensures, to the most demanding standards, the training of the personnel involved, guaranteeing the safety and efficiency of the offshore personnel.

"These results represent our commitment to keeping CERONAV at the top of professional training in the maritime field. My goal is transparency in spending the public money. We will continue in this direction, constantly adapting to new technologies, integrating interactive virtual courses, to provide modern and efficient training. I would like to mention that I am delighted to work with a wonderful team of experts, who are always adapted to new requirements in the field," said Dan Pisică, CERONAV General Manager.

Regarding CERONAV’s branch in Galati, an increase in income was noted in March 2025, compared to March 2024, both due to the measures taken from an administrative point of view and through the accreditation of a new simulator in Constanta. “During this period, I have noticed that there are some problems regarding the enrolment process. I will not tolerate any practice that raises suspicions in the activity of the Galati branch. I completely disavow the behaviour of some colleagues. In this regard, I ask all those who encounter problems to inform me about the deficiencies encountered in the enrolment process”, stated Dan Pisică, General Manager of CERONAV.
