The Final Conference of the "1 System 4 IWT learning: upskilling pathways" project, co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme, was organised on the 13th of May 2025, in the framework of the Annual General Assembly meeting of the EDINNA Association, hosted by the maritime school GO! De Scheepvaartschool – Cenflumarin in Antwerp, Belgium. CERONAV, as a project partner, attended the event, making an important contribution by promoting educational initiatives in the inland navigation field.
Starting from the project objectives, the event focused on the modernisation and harmonisation of vocational training in the inland waterway transport (IWT) sector, in accordance with the requirements of EU Directive 1997/2397. The participants discussed possible solutions for the development of a digital educational ecosystem, analyzed the project results and outlined possible directions for the future of education in this field. The agenda also included a workshop, during which the new digital interactive learning modules developed within the project were presented and tested.
EDINNA is the European network of educational and training institutions in the field of inland waterway navigation, established in 2009 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and it is the main guarantor of the harmonization of the professional training of inland navigation personnel in Europe.
