Training campus

CERONAV’s Training Campus is a modern facility designed to provide high-quality practical training for maritime and offshore personnel, using the latest technology and modern infrastructure. Spanning 8,700 sq. meters, the campus includes:

A building that houses a 128-square-meter training pool with two depth levels (2.5m and 5m), as well as a Helicopter Underwater Escape Training simulator used in safety training courses for personnel working on oil rigs.

A second building, featuring a contemporary design, currently in the final stage of construction and expected to be completed by July 2025. This building will include a training pool, classrooms and simulator rooms, a multifunctional hall, and accommodation facilities for trainees, aiming to provide integrated services for both Romanian and international trainees. This building will also host an Environmental Information Centre (EIC), developed as part of the LEARN4SEA project coordinated by CERONAV and funded by the NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme. The EIC, featuring interactive exhibits, will be interconnected with three other centres located in Bulgaria, Türkiye and Georgia, and will be equipped with advanced presentation equipment.

The firefighting training facility consisting of a containerized unit featuring internally divided compartments, allowing for varied firefighting scenarios in line with both OPITO and STCW standards. The facility also includes a dedicated deck for H2S training and a helideck equipped with a control room, simulating emergency firefighting procedures during helicopter landings on vessel decks.

The seamanship training facility which is designed in the shape of a ship’s bow and is equipped with a chain well, rope compartment, and an anchoring and mooring system. It serves as a hands-on training facility for seamen in anchoring, manoeuvring, and mooring operations.

The survival crafts and rescue boats area which is equipped with a gravity davit and lifeboat, two enclosed lifeboats, an inflatable motorboat, and several support motorboats which are used for courses on survival equipment handling, lifeboat operations, and personal survival techniques at sea.

The boat hangar that provides secure storage for boats during the winter season or when undergoing maintenance and repairs.
