Project description
The project had two main objectives:
- The capitalization of the results of the previous projects, NELI and HINT, implemented by CERONAV as Lead Partner on the Transnational Cooperation Program for South-East Europe and the continuation of the process of harmonizing the education system in the inland navigation sector initiated by the recognition of the seaman qualification course obtained in HINT.
The project supported the implementation in the Danube region of the new European Directive on the recognition of qualifications in the inland navigation sector, a directive that established the new European standards for education, training and certification in river transport through:
- • the organization of information and dissemination workshops of the Directive in the 7 countries;
- • the development of two model courses;
- • the organization of pilot actions for testing the two courses;
- • the elaboration of a study regarding the situation at that time of the education and training system in the field in the Danube region and the obstacles identified in the adoption of European standards;
- • the elaboration and validation with the help of the specialized Commissions (CCNR and DC) and under the guidance of the European Commission of a medium and long-term transnational strategy regarding the implementation of the new European Directive on the recognition of qualifications in the inland navigation sector in the Danube region.
Updating and developing information, tools and modern logistic services in order to integrate navigation on the Danube in modern transport solutions that lead to cost reduction and negative impact on the environment.
The project officially ended on June 30, 2019.
