Project description
The main objective of the project is to support the European Commission, EU Member States and neighbouring countries in the implementation of the NAIADES action program, CERONAV being involved in the Trades and Competencies work package dedicated to the harmonization of education standards in the field of navigation and logistics on inland waters.
PLATINA II is based on the results of the PLATINA project (2008 – 2012) and aims to implement the five action areas of the NAIADES I program, namely markets, fleet, trades and skills, image, infrastructure.
Respecting the recommendations of the White Paper regarding the market position and increasing the performance of the inland navigation sector, PLATINA II will develop multidisciplinary knowledge and expand the action base of the previous PLATINA I project, by bringing together the main stakeholders from politics, industry, research and the sector of inland navigation.
PLATINA II, in close cooperation with the European Commission, will establish a plan for the implementation of the actions selected during the project and the support of permanent actions.
CERONAV participated in the implementation of the following activities from work package 3, Trades and Competences:
- • Development of technical standards for the use of practical training simulators for seafaring personnel in the inland waterways sector;
- • Elaboration of a standard electronic book with the experience of embarkation on the ship;
- • Promotion of inland waterway transport in the field of logistics education.
