The Romanian Maritime Training Centre – CERONAV provides both theoretical and practical training for maritime, river, and port personnel, as well as for professionals in the offshore industry. All training programs comply with the national legislation, international regulations, and the standards set by various accreditation and recognition bodies.

As the designated national body for seafarers’ training, CERONAV is responsible for fulfilling Romania’s obligations under international conventions and agreements related to the education and professional development of maritime and river personnel.

Since its founding, CERONAV has steadily evolved alongside the maritime transport sector, continuously adapting to industry demands to deliver high-quality training services. Following Romania’s inclusion on the International Maritime Organization’s White List - after ratifying the 1978 STCW Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers - the Centre experienced significant growth. Today, CERONAV stands as a leading maritime training provider in South-Eastern Europe.

CERONAV operates both in Constanța and Galați, and it is equipped with state-of-the-art training facilities.

CERTIFICATIONS

Since 2023, CERONAV has been certified in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard. The STCW courses organized by CERONAV are approved by the Romanian Naval Authority, and in the field of offshore personnel training, CERONAV holds prestigious accreditations from OPITO, GWO and the Nautical Institute. 

Additionally, CERONAV is a MARLINS Approved Test Centre, meeting the standards set by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency and holds ERASMUS accreditation for ERASMUS+ Mobilities in the field of Vocational Education and Training.
